Does anything suck more than Windows XP?

I have a refurbished Dell running Windows XP. I am so sick and tired of debugging and fixing crap with this operating system. I've used PCs and Windows since when it was Windows 3.1, a long time. I used to own a computer gaming center running 13 networked PCs. I've had Windows 95, 98, and XP on probably 20 different machines. I've debugged and fixed so many problems that I can't even count. I'm pretty sure I can dubug and fix just about anything at this point.

But I am fed up with having to fix it all the time. I'm tired of sitting in front of a blue screen or staring and that F'in hour glass. Everytime I run Windows Media Player (jamin tunes while I burn stuff) I have to hard reboot the system.

Actually I have a lot of respect for Bill Gates personally. He built an empire and he's very generous with his fortune. The world is a better place because of him (I'm sure I'm gonna get some hate mail for this). But somewhere along the line Microsoft became complacent and decided it was OK to release software with more holes that swiss cheese. How many Security Updates have you installed? 10? 11?

My next computer will be a Mac laptop with 17" wide aspect screen. Then I'll get an Ipod, upload my 9845 Terrabytes of music and hit the road.

So go to my web site and auctions and buy some stuff. I need a new computer.

Any network gaming freaks out there?

Wow... I waited a long time to move up from ME which worked pretty well for me, most of the time.... XP has been a dream...... Virtually no problems... have as many 7-8 different applications open at same time and hardly even a burp....


Have fun on your MAC.... You will be in the 20% crowd.... Me, along time ago I was a ATARI use (1984 I think) vowed never again to be a orphan system owner.... Sure MS sucks, but there is not a whole lot out there that is better... LINUX is coming on and probably has MS worried, but it aint there yet for me.

Then there is software, there is not one single outlet in my town (155,000 population) that sells anything APPLE/MAC... Except a few games at EB...

Maybe refurbished Dell is problem.... Which CPU do you have, how many megs RAM?

I have had no issues with XP, now Win64 is a different beast.. you may need to update your drivers to XP compatable ones... that iusuusally fixes the issue

2 things in life I hate with a passion - Windows 98 and Kimble tubing. Say what you will, but if you bring either of those two things to my house, you're gonna get a swift kick in the ass out the door...lol.

I'm lovin' my Mac. It has it's purposes though - graphics, video editing, music...I got fed up with my pc too some time ago for anything "recreational media" related. I still have a windows laptop, but I boot it up only once in a great while when everything in my life is going perfectly smooth and I need some unstability...lol. To each their own though. Macs aren't bad though, especially anything with OS X 10.2 and up.

You prob have XP, which is somewhat gay, it doesn't have the stability that PRO has.
