Man I hate teh weather latley, every time i got out to blow its nice then bout halfway into a piece frickin wind starts blowin pissin me off and then when I finally finish, the wind stops funkn consperacy man I know it:depressed
really, you blow glass outside? i can't even imagine how you would overcome all of the extra variables that would be involved. impressive.
I spent a good year blowing glass outside myself, off Cape Cod in Mass, where you're hard pressed to find a windier place. Cracking was so commonplace that I didn't have much to show for all that time, exept for a hightened sense of flame annealing.
Two in the morning in February, snow melting off the bench. Good times indeed. Best of luck Crip, you've my sympathy.

Well I may be in the northeast but I still appreciate the fact that even though it gets cold when the temp is below 20 degrees at least I am inside. Too bad you couldn't get one of those mini garages made from metal tubing and canvas and enclose the sides. Least you'd be out of the wind, but then again that wind is also your ventilation :bangHead:

yeah it sucks when the flame is blowing 2" to either side of where you want it or even worse gets blown back in your face.

Been doing outside craft shows for umpteen years. Do mostly small or lace work. Use an EZ-Up ($200 @ Sam's) and put up the sidewalls when the wind gets too bad. Ya, flame dancing can be a problem. NOW I'm getting a studio (ex-garden shed) and work even well below 0 :)

ive always thought about this. what i was thinking was to go buy some plexi glass and make a setup to where they surround the table at least 2-3 ft high and on three sides of course the side u work from would be open. but i always thought this would work perfect for small craft shows and flea markets.
