Ever wanted to learn to electroform? Want to dip your toes in soft glass waters and perfect your bead and bottle shapes?
812031 Flameworking for Electroforming is an intermediate/advanced class with Janelle Zorko, on March 10-11, 2007; 10 am - 5 pm. This is a 2-day course which covers the basic process of electroforming. In addition, students will learn how to create base beads and bottles for later embellishment. The class instruction will include sculpted bicones, tabular base beads, hollow perfume bottles and goddess beads. Students will learn various techniques for adding interest to their electroforming by using micro beads, jeweler's wax and natural objects. Finally, various patinas and finishing techniques will cap off the class.
STUDENTS MUST BRING SEVERAL OF THEIR OWN BEADS FOR ELECTROFORMING. THESE BEADS SHOULD BE LARGER THAN 1 INCH IN HEIGHT OR WIDTH. THESE BEADS CAN BE LENTILS, BICONES, TABS OR OTHER SCULPTED BEADS.
Supplies and lunch are included. If you have personal eye protection or any particular glass colors or tools you want to use in the class you may bring them. Limited to 9 students; reservation and prepayment required.
