I was at work today, concentrating really hard, and i fumbled my hand torch. the flame ended up hitting me in the forehead, burning my hair in the process. (i know im retarted)
it wasnt too bad though because i have short hair the flame just burned the ends. but i was wondering two things:
has anyone else burned their hair while working? and does it take longer to grow back if you dont cut off the burnt ends?
-DC-
when i had dreads they wouldn't burn haven't had to worry about it lateltey

Paul Stankard let me use his CC plus that was his main torch for years. It had a 007 or something like it for a serial number and I was all excited to hook up and use it.
Needless to say, I was working along and happy to be having a new torch to check out when the propane hose popped off and smacked me with... well you know what it what did.
I smelt burnt hair for a while.
yeah I have longer hair and some of it fell into the flame a bit when I leaned a little to far foward. It grew back just fine without getting rid of the burt ends so I think you should be ok. just be glad it as only your hair that you burnt and not your eye or something.

I singe my hair at least once a day lighting one thing or another no joke my bangs kinda hang. The damn flame just creeps up on me every time.
yeah, we gots to be careful. Last week I was wearing a flannel an got real close to the flame while doing a detailed bridge nan suddenly I noticed my flannel was on fire--I was on fire. I got it off quick an the shop mate got some free entertainment. He said it looked like I steped on a bees hive.
you dreedies should wear one of those funny hats with no top. hehe, good luck.

BC I had the smae thing happen to me when a flanel wa engulfed in flames.
I also used to have long hair down to my ass. That i used to keep tied back in to a pony tail and wore a do rag over it when working. one day a pcs of glass flicked off my pc and landed on my head and it caught my do rag on fire and it burned so much hair right at the scaple. So most of my hair was cut by the fire right at the top of my head. When it statted to grow back it look redicuklas. So I shaved my head and was done with the long hair thing.

you should not say "retarted" it could offend all the retarted people up in here....
I had dreads for several years, like chad said, you dreadies don't have to worry so much b/c they won't burn. Well, actually, they burn, but just real slow and don't just scorch up like hair. It's like lighting an oak log versus lighting dry grass. bc, I also have lit myself up...more than once, both times sleeves too close to the flame.

I'm a software developer by day, I don't have any hair left to burn!
Though I did almost burn my thumbnail tonight. Glass slipped off while I was striping some clear tube. Smelled about the same as burning hair, but luckily no damage.
Careful with the shirt sleeves. I wear a sweat shirt while I'm working, but even in my 40 degree work space I push 'em up to keep out of the way.

Hah, yah, last night I was beginning a spoon and the shopmate offers to give me a drag of his tobacco while Im working by holding the pipe to my face and lighting it for me...burnt a piece of my bangs all the way up to my forehead, and he smacked me in the face to put it out. I was so stunned for a good minute! Now my bangs are all frizzle fried up the middle. Pretty sweet look. ;) ...Also, dont wear short sleeves while working hot if youre pale, like transparent pale like me, lol.
