im really new to buying glass at the moment as well.
from what i've noticed, colors and clear are cheaper to buy from multiple companies rather than one...
a big portion of it for me is the location of the supplier as well considering shipping adds up over time.

as for companies, GA seems to be the most professional i've encountered so far, out of a north star, glass alchemy, and momka sample color packs... GA's is the most noob friendly and has the most information on each color (SO HELPFUL).
good luck

i like glasscraft personally...they are very nice and prompt....and they have a program where if you pay 60$ you get like 30-50% off of everything you order for a year...it really only makes sense when you're placing huge orders, but its definatley saved me several hundred bucks over the years...

i echo the thought about multiple suppliers...

there to many for me to name, this early in the morning but,

http://www.mountainglassarts.com/s.nl/sc.1/.f

that link is my main supplier of clear... and

http://www.dichroicimagery.com/ is a close second... Dicro...

and,

http://www.glasscraftinc.com/

and the Glass Alchemy sample packs are the best for me as well,

here's that link;

http://www.mountainglassarts.com/s.nl/sc.2/category.88/.f

and i would like to add,

disco sparkle is the shit, when it is mixed (1 part D/S to 4 parts other) with other
colors or, clear...

my 2 cents, i like UST clear rod and tube a lot and use it but, Simax is best...

I am w/ ACE on Glasscraft. As muuch color as I use I save a bundle w/ their 30% off deal. As far as cheap clear you can get a case of UST 31.7mm x 4.0mm for $99 from global trading. That is one of the best prices I have found so far on clear. I have been buying from them off and on for about 7yrs now and have no complaints. Here is the link.

I like technolux they usually have great deals on 2nds and odds which save you a bundle especially if you are just learning. Vapor glass also has great deals on color. All the vendors are good people for the most part. Just check around and see who is having a sale

I just bought 7 pounds of seconds from GA's annual sale so I won't be buying for a while, but have a look at this:

Can't vouch personally, but hey, a deal's a deal and from past posts the guy sounds straight up fair.

Jonas, thanks for the globaltrading tip, I may be having a look at that real soon.

.

Its true, had mine for over a year and I get my 30% off every time I order. So if a color is $50 you get it for $35. The seconds and odds and occasionals also are 30% off. $60 a year, thats only $5 a month.

Yep I have the club discount too. It's a great deal if you buy a fair amount of glass in a year. Plus, it's 30% off all colored glass including firsts, 2nds, odds, frit, etc. and it's 5-15% off tools except torches. Clear is 10% off, so that works on simax and pyrex, and always a great deal since I order lots of tubing and color. Cheers!:bouncy:
