Is anyone from Huntington? My teacher wants me to deliver his sculpture for him and says there alot of glass there. He mentioned a few specific companies and stuff but I forgot what they are. Pilgrim glass is one.

He's giving me control of his truck and giant steel sculpture. . .

I hope the risk is worth him not having to drive there.

Anybody know any cool places I can visit when im there? Its a 3 hour drive so I'm trying to make it worth it

Huntington is really small, Ive been there for various reason a few times. It does have a glass tradition that goes back to the early 20th century. They used to make little soft glass marbles you know the kind kids actually use to play the game with. There is a tradition of molded and cast glass there too. I'm not sure if any of it still exists.
Fenton Artglass is in WV but I'm not sure where. Fenton would be well worth checking out.

My uncle used to (but doesn't still) blow glass at the Hamon glass company in Scott Depot, W.Va. That's not too far from Huntington, but I don't suppose there's much to look at there anymore. His major competition was not too far away at a place called Blenko glass. You might see if they are still around. It was a cool operation....natural gas well straight out of the ground into the back of the furnace.....supply glass, soda and talent...voila.....
