Revere Glass Scholarship Program
I know you guys wanted it so here it is. This is a special program only for the melting pot. Revere Glass will open one seat in one workshop and one observer spot in one workshop.
This is a test. This is how this will work. Revere Glass will pay for your class and supplies. You will have to pay travel and lodging. If we let you in to a workshop you have to be able to attend for this to continue to work.
The scholarship student is required to donate at least one piece to our scholarship gallery. As the pieces grow so will our ability to provide more.
If you would like to be considered, Please email info@revereglass.com with:
1. Top 3 workshop choices
2. Name, location and years blowing
3. Pics or links to your work
4. Your prior experience in glass
5. What torch you use and how meny hours per week you use it
6. What you hope to gain from the workshop.
7. Your long term goals for your glass journey

Thanks for the nice notes and pm's. Also a big thank you to Robert Mickelsen who will donate a piece to the cause. And Kaj Beck who has donated to this project.
If more and more people donate we might even be able to provide flight and hotel.
You guys are making this happen, I only made a studio. But you are the ones who are keeping it going. Big up to the flame.

That's the beauty of it all, you don't need to travel immediately, there are programs all year long, posted well in advance, giving you enough time conjure up that extra loot needed to get the yourself out there, 3 workshops of any choice, that's rare, very rare. Good luck to all who are participating!!!

04-14-2007, 01:57 AM
The Scholarship is for one seat in a workshop and one observer spot. We asked for your top 3 choices of what ONE they would like to be in. Thanks for the support Kaj.
Hey Dustin,
I can't apply for this, as my life is too busy to predict this year and I wouldn't be able to commit to anything with certainty. I just wanted to say that I think this is a great idea and very generous of you. Hopefully you'll do it again in future years and I can apply then.

Yeah I know I should but rarely want to see most of my production ever again, and as far as the headies I had a decent pic collection going but my hard drive crashed. There still might be hope for it yet, but that will have to be in the near future cause that computer is in maine.

I was just about to submit my email for this when I discovered my gp.org gallery is completely empty! All my pics are gone :( so I guess I can't enter into the contest... unless the site gets fixed.....or I upload them somewhere else.
bummer........I had at least 100 pics uploaded:bangHead:

Well I was trying to upload some pics on ga.org last night and I got a file too large prompt. Then when I went back to my gallery it said it was empty. I was pissed, so I checked it again a minute ago and my pics are there. So hopefully it is a temp prob.

As a note. Our program is more like a grant. I realized now after listening to what a few people had to say about programs like this...People are chosen for all different reasons, Including, financial need, glass blowing ability now and potential, if they have taken classes and more. Each applicant was reviewed and it was very difficult to decide on just 2. So we added a third winner. Thank you to all the people who applied and thank you to the people who have donated glass for this program. Soon we will be able to off this again.I
Hey all I was there when Nasty fopund out she won she is super stoked. This is an awesome program that Dustin is running. An awesome facility. Everyone there will have a great time.
