We're going to be placing an order soon for schott for our shop, and it's always cost effective to buy more and get the glass on pallets, so I figured we'd try a bulk buy. I've been in a lot of bulk buys on LE but they aren't a regular thing here, which is why I'm posting this here and not the classifieds. everyone could save money on all the stuff we use doing group buys, I'd love to see it catch on across the states for all the things we use. I did a bulk buy on opals last year and it worked out well, we all saved. :D
So, Portland area people, meaning those of you willing to drive to my shop to pick up your glass, within two days of it being delivered. i'm doing this with less time than normal bulk buys run so we can all get in on my sale prices, 35% off. ;) If we don't get over 10 cases ordered by the deadline, we'll have to extend the bulk buy (not the sale prices) because this won't work unless more then 10 are ordered. If it doesn't work out in time and you still want your glass shipped directly to you at the sale price, that's fine, but it won't be on a pallet unless it's over 10 cases, and this is how we're all going to save a lot of money on shipping by ordering together...pallets! ;)
Here are the bulk buy specifics
Order deadline midnight PST April 18th. You can PM, email, or call to place your order, and pay by credit card, or simply drop off a check.
Shipping costs will be emailed to you by early Monday the 23rd. Payment is due by midnight on the 23rd.
Glass will be shipped from California on Wed the 25th and arrive by Friday the 27th if all goes as planned.
You need to be able pick up your glass on either Friday or Saturday.
Buy in fee $5 - this covers my costs of doing a bulk buy, like tarps to cover glass, removal of pallets, etc.
Once the glass is ordered there's no backing out. You can sell your cases off to someone else if you want, but i'm not buying them. I'll be ordering, too so I can't. ;)
