I thought a bitch window was when you take a bubble. Pop it. Then you lay down a color around the hole. Then you flare it out. Then take a reversal ball or what ever and fuse the two together and blow out. So you have a nice border. "Bitch Window" is self explanatory.

i really dont think this is the right way to look at things. just because your tired of making and looking at reversals doesnt make them outdated. just because lots of people have made them doesnt make them outdated either. for those who are only a couple years into this game this stuff is still very new and exciting. these also arent the ideas of any one person to be ripped off. reversals, reversals in reversals, reversals over reversals, this is all the natural progression of what were doing and im having a blast learning this craft. not everyone wants to be so avant guard...if you look at fine woodworking, people have been doing the same general techniques for thousands of years...not because they cant do something new but there are some things that just seem to work on an aesthetic and technical level. i dont claim to be making art, im just trying to learn the craft.

it just seems like anyone who says reversals suck or reversals are dead are just trying to put themselves above everyone else. if it isnt your thing, let your revolutionary new ideas speak for themself.

People have been doing wigwags and reversals for thousands of years. They have the oldest known wigwag at the Corning Museum Of Glass, I don't know how old it is but its thousands of years old. If I'm not mistaken furnace workers have been doing a form of stick stacking for thousands of years. Anyone who thinks they were the first person to do a tech needs to go to some museums and do some more research.

i agree reversals do get boring at times, but there $$$$ and at the end of the day if your not getting paid, then you aint gonna be blowing glass for to long,
also i wanted to say that the bitch window is the ugliest of all the tube cane techs!! IMO the nicest tube cane techs are four wig reversals stacked and reveresed, and the nine way, ofcourse there only nice when done flawless, which i cant do..meh

also the bottom line is, if you are into reversals, and you learn how to do nice TIGHT perfectly lined up wigs and can attach a bunch of them in a row, you are learning how to extremly control the glass, which is what nim going for,if you put forth the time to master reversology 101 your skills will be increased, you will have better over all control of the glass, im not sure that there any other technique that will push you that fast and that far ahead with your ability to have complete control over the glass. maybe there is??
though if i was in matts position where ive been blowing glass for a long ass time and has seen this industry change as much as im sure it has in that time that maybe i would be saying the same thing as him????
anyhow reversals ARE "COOL" if you think there cool, and reversals suck if you think they suck.

IT was intended to be a total glasshole remark lmao...sorry guys I have never liked doing r-balls all though I think that there are skills learned when doing r-balls, I just don't like spiral balls myself personally, I have always stated this. Yes , I know spiral balls sell but "selling" just isn't enough for me anymore. In fact the whole "money for glass thing" just stresses me the fuck out and for me to think I have to get so many of these spiral things into my piece in order to get this amount of $$ fuck that. I don't blow glass because I like money, I blow glass because it intrigues me and constantly entertains me. making r-balls over and over is not hard. it is the same as doing prodo.
it is more time consuming but not hard.
people call others noob's, but where did they start?
everyone considers diff things hard. depending on skill level.

i also dont use a hand torch. i get my cc+ into all those lil nooks and cranny's

Yeah, I'm defenitley at it 8 hrs a day every day for the last 15 months. Actually figured alot out on my own. Started right off working by myself in my own shop. A friend taught me how to make spoons, and someone else taught me how to do tube pulls. And then just worked at it untill my reversals came out straight. I had been around for years selling glass and alot of heady work so I allready new my way around pipes and styles of work and patterns, so that certainly helped alot. Troy B was supposed to teach me but I never made it out there and just kind of got it without him. Still looking forward to some marble lessons and lots more knowledge.
