hey all, just trying out some new fume techs and cant quite seem to get a good flame setting for gold fume on my phantom. for silver i use mostly the center blue knob with a touch of green outside and long propane candles works fine,

the gold ive been trying a really oxidizing flame and it just seems to burn everything off on the inside. any help here? trying to fume iso

ok make sure outer oxy is off just use a crack of blue inner triple and just a crack of green inner and it should paint like a brush.

i burn my gold with a softer flame than i would with silver...

Also, make sure you've properly heated the "scaffold" glass that you're going to fume, otherwise it wont stick. I find gold to be a little more picky in this regard than silver.

hey thanks!, so Matt meke sure ive got this, using just the lynx, crack the center blue and leave the green off or use it a crack as well, and this will make super short candles correct?

i fume gold with a neutral flame always over a light silver fume.

man theres a bunch of different gold fuming flames on the gtt, that all give varied results, depending on what im doing i DO like to leave the ouuter green oxy on, but i also like using i wider flame and using just the lynx green oxy NO BLUE use i bigger flame. took me a while to man, just gotta play around.
its not a reducing flame like silver, it needs some thrust to push the gold out, but not to much thrust.

you want like 3/4 inch candle, a focused but not sharp flame.More green than blue just change the flames "look" with the blue, don't focus the flame with the blue.

I just use whatever flame Im using for silver, then turn up the blue oxy a bit.
