You know, Tonasket is the only one worth doing something like that at - you'd have one hell of a crowd. Set it up next to the drum circle

I would be there, that sounds fun as hell. Has anyone talked to the people in charge of the barter fair though to make sure its cool?
How would we do it? you know its kinda windy and cold up there in october, so has anyone thought about what we could blow glass in? I have done the open air thing, and its not as much fun as you might think. Is it gonna be a non-pipe event?

Hey, Rollandblaze here and yes it's on. The first two weekends in October. Vendor space is under current review. I'm creating a bench area for everyone to use (prob 2 spaces ) for creating non Kiln'd work.
Thinking in large part on doing marbles and pendants as well as jars for events <ideas are always welcomed :0) >
Camping is $10 per tent plus something extrra ( yet undetermined by the powers at large ) per persons .

Pipes are "guerilla style " as this an ART event !! opportunities are youre own respondsibility... as ther have been problems in the past and "The Board Members " are trying to raise the status of this event from a drunkin / brawl.

Are you only looking for Eastern WA blowers or can us mossbacks from the westside participate. I blew glass for a couple of years in Pullman and Palouse so I got some eastside cred...

i'm in western MT i could probably attend and maybe compete or join or however the format is. It'd be nice to have some sort of stalls or large bench and a kiln is pretty essential for large marbles or lots of things. are you talking about just making small things to sell to the public constantly or a glassblowers convention style with a competition etc?

Galaxie Glass
08-13-2007, 05:56 PM
Yes I'm taking my small 12o volt kiln for larger marbles ect. There will be a largre amount of peeps to sell to but i'm trying to do more of a comp. style for on site made pc's.

you probably wont get any word if your waiting on turtle. there is no date set yet but plan on the 3rd weekend in oct. you really need to go to one of the meetings they hold at the tonasket community center. they are the people you want to talk to. i know this year has a chance of being alot different from past years. good leuck, i hope your plans work out.

I'm trying ( and have beeen for the last several weeks now) to get anybody to answer the phone , e-mails ect. Its becoming very dis-satisfying to be ignored when I'm trying to do my best in raising the bar for an better event all the way around.
In the past it was nothing short of a drunken fest which is what they didnt want. I appraoched them with the "Flame-off" event for art. The concept was readily acccepted. But not a single word from "them" in the past weeks now.
I'm now trying to create a second and third back up plan so this event can go forth.
