really just because it isn't made from 50 reversal balls doesn't mean it's not headie.... just the fact that its a dub bub makes it heady to some custies.

damn danny.. the last thing i saw you make was a spoon with lots and lots of fume at the midwest collab. i didn't think you even blew glass anymore =)
i'm sure this is the "new standard" for headdie work.. wait.. it's danny's new standard for headdie.
love the blowins (or were those the michigan blowins... aka tube encasements?)\

For a first shot, no once can knock that piece.
The connections all look nice, smooth, and even, the basic shaping is nice,
wings are nicely attatched, and although it's not very visisble in the shop pics - the daylight seems to bring out anice honey comb in the bowl.
I've only one suggestion for though :
move your propane.
Like most terms, i think headdie is all relative. Someone who has a bazillion r-balls on a piece might be heady for some, while fumed surface work for others. It's all from one persons perspective. whatever...
Janky, thank you for posting you work; i really enjoyed it. You can call your piece whatever you want.
Cristi, you should post more of your work! When i get more torch time in June, i was planning on posting my recent work, because i think not enough people post their stuff here because we are all afraid of bad critique. The funny part is that the majority of the people here do post great comments and criticism. It's like that awkward high school couple who won't talk to each other, but are totally into each other, waiting for the other to make the first move. We are all learning here, so let's have some fun!
Sick blow ins.
Just a question tho. What kind of tube or color do you use to blow in?

thanks everyone.
seth, those are more of a tube encasement than a blowin.
lorax,i put the texture on first then sprinkle on silver powder and fume gold then encase.

yo janky, you gonna have to change that name. haha shit looks good. try texture on a wood rasp, theres a bunch of tools you can use that would save you time, that is if your sitting there pokeing the tube, man that takes forever. i really like the universe marble on there.
