GAS conference extra events

Just received this from Marcie and thought I'd pass it along. I'm staying an extra two days for this and will be renting a car on Sunday to make the drive to Tom's and back to the airport in Pittsburgh on Tuesday (early afternoon). I'll have a couple of extra spots in the car if you need one. Let me know. I'm staying at the Omni Hotel if you need to get in touch with me about this. Thomas Müller-Litz will be demonstrating at the GAS Conference in Pittsburgh, and we’ve also put together a Demo Day at Tom Doner’s place outside of Pittsburgh on Monday, June 11th. That’s the home of AGI (the Art Glass Invitational).We’ll have demos, a Lauscha history slideshow, German food, and of course, ....beer. You can camp out, and they also have RV hookups available. We’re sponsoring these events to help raise money for Thomas’s trip. It’s expensive to get him to the GAS Conference to perform, and they only give him $250 towards trip & airfare, which just isn’t enough!

yeah sure. shcok proof, just like the other Lauscha glass, I'm sure... not!

Uhhh... Yeah... I suppose I am yanking on you.

As you pre-heat it, make sure you pay close attention to the flame. When the flame (just propane and air, or a tiny bit of oxy) stops bouncing off of the tube and looks as if it is trying to kling to the surface of the glass... then you are ready to start putting some heat to it... work at an even rate of heat too.

I love that stuff.

You owe it to yourself to see this master showman at work! He sings! He yodels! And his montage vessels are incredible. The excitement mounts as one bubble is added to another and another and so on, while he continues to reverse the axis of the glass as he goes. Using phenomenal Lauscha colored tubing, he constructs a beautiful hollow vessel.
We've also organized a Demo Day at Tom Doner's place (alias Mr. Wonka). on Monday, June 11th. An easy drive from Pittsburgh, The Glass Blowing Center is well known as the home of The Art Glass Invitational (AGI). We'll have demos, a Lauscha history slideshow, German food, and of course, ....beer. You can camp out -- they even have RV hookups available. We'll have a bonfire, weather permitting.
