glass straws, what size tubing

Looking for any suggestions on what size tubing I should use for making glass straws. Or should I be looking for capillary tubing? I was contacted by a guy whose daughter was hit by a drunk driver many years back and has been a quadrapeligic since. Needs the straws for drinking hot liquids like coffee and tea. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

The Simax we carry in 6mm x 1mm looks like any straw size you would get in a regular straw,
these come in the regular 5' pieces
