Hey everybody!
My girlfriend and I recently took a vacation to Italy for a little over two weeks. First week was spent touring around Rome, Sorrento, Capri, Siena, Florence. The last leg of the trip I spent in a Lucio Bubacco workshop. It was a great experience I would recommend to everyone!
Here is a link to a flickr account I set up.
The pics are in order if you click on the Italy folder.

There's also some pics of our trip down to Smith rock last weekend. That place is killer too!

like the cure said " why can't I be you. " lol would love to do that trip, in the work shop, was it all soft glass ? Mr. Bubacco is a total monster, just love his stuff, and I have only seen photos.

Yes all Effetre. It was Wes post that made me think to post these, thanks man! You can see all my first attempts at woman. Took me awhile to get a grasp on the soft glass. I can see how it is a great medium for sculpture now though.
Lucio is a madman! It was worth the class just to get to watch him bust out for a week. He is a great guy, with a great sence of humor. He never gave the feeling of having any sort of head trip, even though his beads were selling for 400 euro in the local galleries!
I got a lot of crap for being a "boro boy" though. It was pretty funny. There is some sort of reputation built up for the boro boys being a bit of a nusense. I think it is more of just younger groups of guys getting together though. Most of Lucio's students tend to be older bead ladies. Everyone else in the class was pretty much into beads.
