I second the Blackout recommendation... Also, check out Tea Leaf Green if you haven't already. They've got a ton of shows for free download (http://www.archive.org/audio/etreelisting-browse.php?collection=etree&cat=Tea%20Leaf%20Green) on archive.org including a show I taped in the Santa Cruz mountains back in 2001. Check em out...they can sure rock at times and are nice guys to boot. They are starting to really blow up so catch them live at a bar/club near you before it's too late.

I used to tape quite a bit 5 years ago when I had decent equipment to do it. But, I stopped because it was taking the fun out of going to shows. I hated being a slave to my gear so I sold it and became a free bird once again. I bought a minidisc recorder shortly after and used to plug into SBD's whenever it was convenient. That TLG show I recorded was one of those events. Haven't done that in several years, though. I just go to shows to have a good time these days. I have tremendous respect for any dedicated taper out there now that I know what they all have to go through. It's not easy and can be extremely frustrating...especially working with microphones.
