Last few weeks have figured out a way to make small paperweights on the hothead torch.
Max size approaching 2inches in diameter but these latest ones no larger then 1.5inches. Any larger and I completely lose control of the glass given my lack of heat.
Moretti on the inside. Always encased in that slow as cold molasses clear Lauscha.
Just finished month 5 working mostly on the weekends only.

Well I am sitting in my 3rd floor apartment in a 16 story condo. Wont be getting a real torch until after I buy a house with detached garage in about a year or so.
Have a hard enough time smuggling the 1 pound propane tanks into the building and running 15 amp cords to different parts of the condo to power it all.

Pmoores, thats great, I'm not trying to criticize your equipment.
3 rip min, WTF? No need to insult me. I'm completely serious.
I made 5 beads on my hot head this morning.
I teach classes about mandrel bead making and blowing on a hot head and don't mind it at all, except for the noise and the way the flame dies as the tanks get cold.
I'm going to go make my hothead paperweights, SO THERE

tks, i will point out the tank doesnt go cold if its in a large cooking pot held in place with 2 10 pound dumbbells.

I've tried hot head paperweights today, but my clear is too reduction prone.. I'll try encasing it with some weird 6 mil.

Well my limited 5 months experience has told me that both moretti and vetrofond transparents are a mess with a hothead. Soot filled. At best you can make small inner portions carefully by limiting flame time.
Only clear that works on the hothead for me it Lauscha.
