"Organic Sculpture and External Decoration" with Micah Evans August 10th-12th at Flameworks Glass Gallery and Studio
In this workshop we will be focusing on design and organic shaping. Using techniques such as hollow cut form and flame carving we will shape hollow vessels out of clear glass and manipulate them to achieve smooth simple shapes. A main goal of this class is to problem solve complex designs with simple shapes and engineering. We will be using oil paints and other pigments to refine our projects and achieve a dramatic presence. Hollow glass experience is a must for this class but experience levels can vary, it is a technique all can benefit from! Be sure to wear clothes you never want to wear again, oil paints can be messy and very permanent.
