The most econimical way is to buy a set of 6 or 8 glasses at the store and take them apart.

How do you know what type of glass they use at the store? I know you can do a quick test to see if they are compatible, but if they are not what do you do? Glue? Just curious.
You can also try ABR - http://www.dichroicimagery.com/
they have a few different styles

sure there's a test, put it in the flame... soft glass will spit like mad and then run like water when hot

Yeah, I know what tests to do. It's just that I don't know what they are before I buy them....and then when I have them at home and it is not the same type, what am I supposed to do?
In all likelyhood, any machine made glasses you buy are not going to be pyrex... never seen a machine made glass that is pyrex.
