Englehart corporation manufactures these. These are nasty to work with, and I've used a lot of them over the years. best advise, use latex gloves when applying, do it over or near your exhaust fan, and most important exhaust it when firing. The chemicals that suspend the color are harmful, thats why I have a vent hole in the top of my kiln with a 4 inch pipe sucking out the vapors.
After 500 degrees, the vapors burn off, and leave the color, even though you still need to fire them at 1060-1070, I leave the shop when I do this until the kiln gets past 500 degrees.

Clean piece very well with alcohol, windex, ect. Do not get oils from skin on piece as paint will not adhere. Clean brushes well. Label brushes for that color only. We use a respirator when applying them. Keep them in the fridge, they'll last longer. Use brush strokes that are parallel to hide any streaking. You can mix shades on top of eachother with multiple firings. And all that was said above by Steven. Do a search on it and I believe there's some more info here on the forum. The best we've found was the Hanovia line. Oh yah and snatch it up quick because production by BASF is being discountinued as I've heard throught the grapevine. I believe some other companies are working on replacing it.

thanx for help. I'm using an air-brush w/heavy ventilation. But I've been firing at about 1300 deg. I think too hot.

Any clogging problems with the air brush? Let me know how it turns out when you fire at the lower temp, would love to know how the airbrush looks.

hey looks just like Stanus Chloride I don't even know what it would do on boro but a silver bearing soda lime will get the same look. You would need a chlorine filter for your respirator if you try it.
I used to use it alot when I did furnace work. We would use a spray bottle to apply it and put it back in a reducing flame before putting it in the kiln. Hopefully that will help some?
