Mine does part-time, she teaches Bikram yoga too! That would suck being at home w/o oxy....I get pissed if I'm out for the weekend.

Both of us, full time...kids 6 and 9. Been stuck together for 10 years. :lol

So Jeff, why are you without everything? Do you guys still share so much stuff that only one person can work at a time? That would drive me insane! I don't like it when matt touches my reamers let alone my torch or something. :lol

Blow glass then give her the broom to clean up.

It's tough. Also, throw in dropping off and picking up the kids at a school that is 25-30 minutes away. We share responsibilities at home, but lately she's been getting way more torch time than me. It's just the way it's working out now. It used to be it was me that got to be on the torch all the time.

She actually took a number of years off from blowing glass, and even tried a couple "real" jobs. But we've finally found the right setup for us that works best and allows us to get the most done.

Sounds like us. Except I'm the one who doesn't like her touching my tools. Almost all of them, anyway. :)
We always joke about how I know when she needs more attention because she starts doing stuff she knows is going to piss me off.

The only thing my wife is allowed to keep in my studio is his bicycle. Someday maybe he'll let me teach him to to torch, but so far he keeps saying "I have enough hobbies!"

Donna & I both torch -- I'm full time and she is part time ( she has the job w / the Insurance ) I set up shows and do wholesale orders and most of the running / ordering of glass supplies.
WE have three stations -- two are hers ( one soft glass & one boro )
Also enough tools for the both of us with some to spare.
Torches -- lynx for sorft glass and two phantoms = hers and mine -- ya she says to leave her torches alone too "smile" and her glass "whew"

Just got married and bought some land, now moving "all" my buildings & cracker box palace to the land, it's almost paid for , so if we want to build house later we can . ( close to her family -- most of mine have passed away ) Mostly out of debt.

Kids - she has two -- one in college and one that's 14 -- all honors student too

My wife and I torch together. I have two boys 11 & 9, we've been together 16 years this November, 21 years if you include the dating/engagement years.

My fiancé took my first ever class with me. She still dabbles in glass from time to time, but her main love is working with metal. She does still know enough about glass to be able to help people when they come into the store asking about it, though. If she'd do it more often, she'd be very good at it.

eddie dosn't work on the torch, but he helps me set up tents & booths for festivals, and works in the booth at festivals with me...he has learned all the lingo & terminology from hanging out at agi the past 6 years, and he has turned into a great glass salesman!

We argue about who needs to do what in the shop more than we work right now... it's too damn hot still for both of us to be on it all the time. So right now we'll just bitch about stuff while I try to watch the TV.

I think that there are big plusses and minuses to the equation. Mostly plusses on a good day though.

My wife used to do beads -- then she decided she wanted a PhD, and that has pretty much taken care of any free time she had....
