Im thinking about getting a one of thier natural gas boosters/ storage tank. Anyone have experience using their products? I am curious as to how long their largest tank (130 cf) will last for a mid - large torch like a 40mm Herbie or something like a Mirage. Thanks alot.

The company's costomer service is A+!
Tell Ed in pittsburgh loves them.

Hey Doc. Ed, Do you have your holding tank constantly connected to the booster/filler? My nat gas line is not close to where my shop is located, so Id like to fill the tank and bring it over to my shop. Im trying to figure out if I should get more than one tank. The guys from G-Tec said their largest tank could run a Herbie at full bore for about an hour and a half. Seems kinda short for such a large tank....

hey matt I dont think that the gtech systems work that way. All the ones that i have seen or worked on have the gas go into the machine where it is compressed into a holding tank that you work off of. The compressor will turn on to repressurize the gas in the holding tank as you are working. I dont think it would work well to pressurize a tank of gas that you then detach from the machine then refill as needed

Agree with black.
I use mine right off the source, street nateural gas.
can you run a line from your source?

Your right, the G Tec systems are not intended to work that manner but the guys from G Tec said it would def work, the tanks may go quick though... I could run a line from the 'source' but its on the complete other side of my house and would prob require alot of piping/plumbing work- and would likely be more then I want to spend mainly b/c I do not think Ill be at this location for an extended period of time. If your shop is near your nat gas line then why would you even need the holding tank? To get a higher pressure than the booster can put out? Thanks for the input... Matt O.

The time connecting/disconnecting tank and charging tank (filling) and time spent moving them around outside of structure is probably going to add up to hours a month if you put a dollar value on that time and effort, it will probably be cheaper to run some piping around to studio from where ever your source is....

I ran 30 feet of weldinghose from my tb-90 to my torch. Why can't you run 50' of hose? Pressure won't be a problem, cuse you can turn it up.
