:bummed::bummed: so i just got back from the barter fair, and when i got back i returned to a angry girlfriend. which made me very angry!!!:wes: and then led to me punching my hand through a truck window. so now i am very messed up and sorry i let my anger get a hold of me. i broke the metacarpals in my hand and partially shattered my knuckle on my little finger. huge bummer because now i cant work to make money and most important i cant torch. and even more of a bummer is that i might need possible surgery.:twitch: so take my advise and just learn to turn anger to love and dont ever use violence. its totally my fault and i feel like the heathen.:bangHead: be smart and love!

I'm sorry that you're hurt and unable to work, but hopefully in the future you will remember this incident and know that violence is not the answer. Pain is a good teacher.

All would do well to heed his advice. There's no shame in learning from the mistakes of others - we'll all make plenty of our own anyways.

Hope that hand gets better soon, but at least you only need one hand for your other hobby :P

Dude, your hands are your moneymakers... gotta take care of them! I'd probably get mine insured if I could afford it. If you want to break something then break something just don't use your fist.

But then, Daniel Trilli managed to make some pretty sweet stuff with one hand that was completely crippled. Just a matter of practice?

i know a one legged tennis player....no prothesis.....he uses a crutch to leap around, and throws it down to execute a 2 handed backhand.

i should think about him more often for inspiration.

A one-legged pirate walks up to a cute girl in a bar and is about to make some small talk when he notices that she has a wooden eye, and gets a bit wigged out. At that moment, the band strikes up a tune and the girl asks the pirate if he'd like to dance. "Would I?!?", he says giving her the up-and-down. She then slaps him on the face, screams: "Peg Leg!!!" and runs out the door, bawling.

So what did you barter that made her so angry?

I saw a video once of a guy doing furnace work with one broken arm. I guess color application (aside from frit and power) is out, but maybe you can work clear for a while with just one hand.

I'm with Swampy....what'd you get blamed for?

since when does a woman need a reason to be angry?

The problem with beating on inanimate objects is that they just don't care if they get the shit kicked out of them and they often end up laughing at you

I guess the other hand actually did have some function, but its still pretty amazing what he was able to do.

^^^^That pic of Daniel Trilli reminded me of a dude that was on the old board named Paul. He had passed out at the torch and gotten severely burned and even lost a couple of fingers. I was wondering what ever happened to Paul. I had seen some of his work from after his accident and it was good but I think I had heard he died from an infection or something. Anyone know?

ha hah yeah that's one of life's constants, I guess :-)

I recently wondered at one of life's imponderables;

Me: 'If a man says something and a woman doesn't hear, is he still wrong?'

Woif: 'Fucking right you are, sunny boy.'

i went to saint pats, but i have to goto missoula bone and joint to a orthopedic doctor. and garrick is right. they dont need a reason. just a crazy thought of insecurity. she was worried that i might find someone that likes me for my self....nah i really dont know why she got mad, but it sure did trigger something in me. hopefully its ok but i dont find out till friday. ill keep you all posted, and if i can i post a pic of my x ray. its pretty messed up, also because you can see some weird shit in my hand that kind of puzzled the doctors. they had know idea what is floating in my index finger. they said probaby some kkind of metal, i said glass, but then again i dont think glass would show up unless it had some heavy metals in it eh? anyone know if colored glass rod would show up on xray cause of the metal content?

so great news! they recommend surgery but i dont need it to get full function back in my hand! i think they just like cutting people open. and i have really improved on my motor skills with my left hand. i think the hardest thing is brushing my teeth. well thanks for the support and hopefully soon i will be torching again at 100%!

I have only one hand right now... super fun time.

hippieandrew
11-01-2007, 10:00 AM
yes it broke. no piece was bigger then 1/4 inch big. it seemed to brake into perfect squares. and it wasn't worth figuring that out. they make vehicle windows pretty hard......must have really annealed those things! lol

vetropod

Congrats on the news about your hand. So are you going to opt for surgery or not?

they make vehicle windows pretty hard......must have really annealed those things! lol

Actually, I think that they're NOT annealed, but rather tempered, so that they break into tiny little pieces like that on purpose. Otherwise if you get in an accident, you would have big shards of glass going through you! :twitch:

nah no surgery. they want to check me in about 3 weeks, but i think all they want is another office visit bill from me. the doc said i "should" get full function back in my hand, with a minor rotational disformity.... which sucks, but is better then a huge surgery bill. as long as my hand works fine and doesn;t prevent me from what i like to do. tempered, annealed whats the difference? all my pipes are tempered, so when you get stopped by a blue meanie you can dispose of your vessel...lol
