His book is done and released. Get it. I've read several chapters that he has been sending me over the last year, one of which made Milissa cry and I got a little choked up over it too.
The guy is papa bear for us flameworkers and is extremely supportive of the flameworking community. I think his acceptance and curiosity for the latest generation of flameworking is rare amongst people who could easily just keep quiet and make money off of us.
My first class was with him at Corning in 2000. He called me a week before the class and asked me some very direct questions about myself and what I do. He claimed he was going to change my life... I thought he was nuts. He was right. I would have kept sweatshopping it until the wheels fell off... because of him I have been able to continue working in glass and completely change.
Since that whole experience, I keep in touch with him and continue to get invaluable advice and encouragement.

I've got a few of his pieces. Only one botanical... but it always seems to freak people out who nothing about Pauls work or glass in general. They think it's like real flowers and bugs preserved somehow. I'd like to get at least one more piece off of him... one of those Orbs with the death masks in them... those things are off the hook good. I wish I could afford it.

Hey Beachglass, come to the Salem flameworking conference. You'll get more Paul than you can handle.
Also, Paul called me last night to say that hits on his site have gone up because of this announcement and he would like to thank all of you for showing some interest in his book. I've been trying to get him to register in here and post, but I think he's a little too buisy.
You all know he loves us... he's so excited about all the young people that flamework and recently wrote some pretty cool stuff in regards to pipemaking and the current generation of flameworkers. Gotta support a guy who supports the scene.
