Yeah that's an interesting link Alfred, I used your link to make a windchime in the key of 'D'.

I had some fencing tube left over and made a windchime out of it and got the (6) pipe lengths from that same calculator. Type in the pipe diameter and take the pipe length instead of the centre of the finger hole.

I guess you could make chimes in various keys right, they say the various keys equate to various stuff -fengshui wodeva.

You can use a stock glass tube as a digeredoo. If you flare the bottom out it makes it louder.

seems the cnn is getting a little loose to me...
people used google to rip them a new ass after the presidential debate,
the other day... at least thats what i heard while listening to talk radio
wile working thursday...

thanks for the thread thou... a friend in my past that blows glass, was
always talking about making a flute... that was before i was a lamper...
and a member here has talked about making didgeris...
he's not talked about it here but, in person he's mentioned it a few times...
for me, it's something to think about... more input...

If you shove a garden hose up your ricker and thread the remainder of the hose up your back and down one shirt sleeve, point away from you and fart, that's the equivalent of throwing your voice (directional farting lol).

yea, I started working with this flute player. He wanted me to make flute mouth pieces and once I understood how flutes were made and what he needed I told him a scientific blower would be a better bet. props to you alfred, that shit looks hard

Key is spacing and hole size,It was a little difficult to get the holes exact just blowing and shaping ,and I haven't got it down(haven't really been working at it steady,Gave my bro one each year for birthday).I think cold working(drilling the holes, and then fire polishing)would make it a lot easier.I take a piece of rod that fits inside the tubing I 'm using and melt a ball on the end ,cut it about 2 in. put some latex on the end and use that as a stopper to close the end near the mouthpiece. This allows you to do a little fine tuning,by moving the stopper in or out.

you could sand down a graphite rod into a reamer to calibrate holes, but I agree drilling would be the best solution if you had access to the equipment.

How about a glass slide whistle?

How about a glass slide whistle?

Why not? :D Or how about a Kazoo? Wonder if CNN would think that was news worthy.
