Hey, So tonight I was hurrying to finish a x-mas gift for my sister. She gave me a tiny piece of gold she's had for a while and wanted it fumed into something. So I made her a "magic wand", she loves Harry Potter.
I used the gold in a honeycomb pattern and sealed the honeycomb marble to the end of the wand. That's where things went ape shit. I an air pocket in the honeycomb because it makes the honeycomb have that cool reflectiveness, but I guess that adds a bunch of stress to the glass, which gave me a nice big crack while I was finishing up. So, I raged on the crack and I think its gone, BUT I noticed my fuming job kind of faded away.
My question is "will the fume come back in the kiln?" And if not, what is the recommended thing to do? I've read all over this forum that I can "grow" crystals in the kiln, does this mean above 1050? I don't know...i'll just have to see...
