The other day I made a bunch of feet and cups, I came to realize i have only 1 functioning foot grabber. Anyone Know of a good way to do them with just one?
I was thinking i could make new cups and open them after they are attached to the stem but that seems like a pain. Id like to give a few away as christmas presents, so I wont have time to get another grabber here by then

What I do is make the cup bubble, attach stem to that then flare out the cup with punty attached to the stem. Set it down. Make a foot, set that down. Grab the foot with the grabbers and just hold onto the cup/stem and attach.

I always make all of my cups and feet, attach the stem to the foot(using claw), then attach top holding it in hand and grabber still on the foot. After the initial attachment I remove grabber and set on pad and spin to make sure the rim is level. Then I polish the weld.
I have multiple grabbers but use only one. You can also puntie up on the inside of the cup and attach.
Hope this helps, Devin

i dont make goblets but i would think it would be easier to punty up to the bottom of the foot than inside the cup.

That's true, I only puntie up to cups if they are wide and shallow. Too big around to hold with a grabber or by hand.

All suggestions above should work great, I would say though if you attach punty to bottom of the foot to watch out for cracking issues, so keep it warm. I'll usually do what Sevin said and attach top holding with hand and foot with grabbers...or the other way around works as well.
