Well maybe not a discovery, some of you may already know. I have found that a 14.? male joint will fit perfectly in to a basic 16mm male slide. Not sure if it is 16. some thing. So a ground glass 14mm male will fit into basic 16. something female down stem. So you can use glass on glass with out the female fitting. Kinda lazy but it works great.:D
