so have been gone for awhile. i have been building a house for a friend in michigan.
well a few weeks ago i decide to come home for a few weeks and get ready for christmas. make all the stuff that needs to be made and be back on the torch for a bit.
so i get on a train. well the train gets to south chicago bout 10 minutes from union station we get in an accident. no warnings, we slam into the back end of a parked train. going about 40 " our train was speeding "
i felt fine at first except a black eye.
emt fire dept and bunch of other people show up. we get evacuated to a local elemtary school. and checked out by emt.
i finally get picked up by my mom as she is a chicago local and she gives me a ride home. as the adrenaline wears off i get all kinds of aches and pains.

go to a hospital and get checked out. got some really torn muscles in my back and neck. and a suspected torn rotator cuff.

i am sposed to get a MRI but aint got the 4k upfront that they want as i dont have insurance.
amtrak will not pay the medical bills upfront. and i dont have insurance
but i have a great laywer and supposedly will get paid in the end of this.

but this dont help me now cause i have to keep up with medical bills
and i cant blow glass. guess ya need the rotator cuff!!!
aint nobody gettin shit for christmas, as i aint got no money and cant make shit!!!
i havent blown glass in 3 months and i miss it!!! i wouldnt even mind makin prodo right now!!!

p.s. have a merry christmas everyone!!!

damn it to hell... that totally sucks... i know from experience that you should
start a diary and write down everything....!!!! and i do mean everything...
even if it's just the fact that you had trouble zipping your pants this morning...
all the things you had planed to make and who they were for...
even the pain in your arm while lighting you smoke...

i am sitting here, wishing i had done this... and my shoulder is in spasm and
my back aching...

shite luck. i bet you'l be able to afford insurance by the time your lawyer is done with amtrak though :). as for christmas, some of the best presents are free. find a way to show those you love how you feel about them. maybe write a nice letter for older folks and make mixtapes or discs for younger peeps. cooking for people is always nice too, everybody loves christmas cookies.

tough times never last but tough people do. repeat this to yourself 10 times a day for the next couple weeks.

happy christmas, m

very sorry to hear youve been injured, im sure your family will understand the lack of gifts considering.
this is the one that bothers me :

i am sposed to get a MRI but aint got the 4k upfront that they want as i dont have insurance.
amtrak will not pay the medical bills upfront. and i dont have insurance
but i have a great laywer and supposedly will get paid in the end of this
this is potentialy leaving you hanging with injurys unknown.they definatly should be taking care of any doc recomended injurys immediatly!
has your lawyer contacted them abot the med bills?
certainly sounds like a nasty accident were there any serious injurys
how badly was the train/s damaged/?
definatly get some notes down from the beginning and in caps write how they are treating you regarding med bills! underline too lol

its 4,000. for an MRI? damn !

Rest easy and add mental stress and lost wages to the law suit.

yes rest but, write all you mental stress and anguish, as well as, write down
missed chances for work and how you felt...

keep a diary...

i'm telling you this because it can play in your favor...
i'm not suggesting that you embellish it at all but,
documentation of things in your own hand and words
will give you an upper hand when they ask stupid
question.... and they have a bunch of stupid questions
that they will ask in an effort to screw you out of what
you deserve...

Should have gone to the ER, you can probably still go. They have to treat you, insurance or no insurance.

A lawyer should be able to help you get things running with no $$$ up front. Especially in light of the circumstances.

i went to the ER right after the accident and they ran a x-ray and a cat scan.
the billing guy came in right after to aske me about payment. i told him i was on a amtrak that crashed. about 5 minutes later they ran another cat scan and a bunch of x-rays. prolly about 40

christmas went well, for being broke.

thanx to all of you for being kind!!!

i will give an update as soon as i know more!
