i have excelent ventalation smoke test shows air near torch gets sucked out before it even gets to rise.. but when laying stringers old school the gasses do get blown back at me and i know im breathing some of it. if i use ns exotics ill get a smashing headache a few hours later or the next day. no other colors have ever done that. ive done some tests and its confirmed that stuff messes me up. anyone with similar symptoms?

Dont stick your head into the fumes, if need hold your breath and sit father back.

That really sucks. Can't say that specifically happens to me but I do occasionally get headaches. I do use a face shield a lot for stuff like that, maybe that'll help. If anything, it really cuts the heat. Of course there is always holding your breath. I remember a friend saying once that heavier metals will sink instead of getting sucked up to the exhaust. This is some toxic work we do, huh?

I had the same problem from the fumes. Try holding the flare at more of a sideways angle instead of straight on or just do what I did and spend the cash on a blast shield it helps allot good investment.

put a small 6 or 8 inch fan behind you when you work that stuff.

was it just the ns exotics that got you or other fume colors too? because not even silver strike 5 gets to me just the exotics.

I've got a HEPA filter with a small squirrel fan (from computer) attached and directed in my direction. I was getting headaches too... it helps a lot. I still hold my breath, but I know where to tip my head to get in on the stream of fresh filtered air...

how about a better vent set up?? your vent is not good enough if you are still breathing shit..
