try snapping on something clear, comes off easier then on color. if you can't get it come over and i'll show ya.

sticking them and snaping them uses a lot less then if you slice them first. plus less chance of wrecking the slice.

depends...what app. are you using it for? ....murrini...if you wrap a stringer of clear around where you want it to snap (not melting the stringer in) then when you stick it and snap it it will almost always come off perfectly at that acute angle and you won't waste anything...if we're talken twisted cane...dimond shears to keep the twist and point where the colors come together, flat cane... straight shears....

i was taught to use nippers, then i learned stick and smack, and have not shattered a murine scinse, nothing pisses me off more than trying to nip off a mill, and it cracks lengthwise Grrrrrrrr $$$$$$$$$wasted!!!!!! IMO, there is NO reason to use nippers. EVen if i needed to snap the middle of a foot murine, i would heat it, crease it on the corner of my desk, or graffite paddle, and blow and snap..........50$ for the zak love tool, lol it is a fucking piece of metal with a v cut out.lolSimplest tool ever, only an idiot woudl spend 50$ on something that took 5$ to make O Yeah, while im ranting, home depot has the best glass shears on the market, they are called tin snips, and they are 10$hahaha

I have a nice pair of carlo donna sheers I use for some things, diamond sheers for others, and quite often I find myself doing the stick and snap... especially for opening the mouth piece of a point. For breaking down tubing I like the V tool and snap method. Nippers are nice for breaking down punty rods. I even break out the score tool on occasion. There's different ways to use that too. You can score and snap, or score most of the way around and then take a pinpoint flame and blast where the score starts and it should break it clean around, or you can score and stick a molten punty on the score mark and it'll usually make a good clean break.

It's like asking fork or spoon. Each has it's place... and don't even get me started on sporks. Jack of all trades, master of none.

I know it's an old thread, but somebody bumped it by voting, so i'm going to throw my two cents in.

for some reason...something as simple as the stick and snap i for some reason can not get it to work consistently. i think i'm going to make a simple mulit color cane to practice with....i hate wasting my nice wigwag millies :(
