That last pipe as funky as it was gave me some inspiration. Today after work I raged & came up with this,my 3rd pipe. Getting better, long way to go,it does work, for tobacco of course, although no carb cause I didn't wan't to destroy it at the last second. The head is nice & thick,I figured out how to condense the ball down on this one, although the ribbon & such is fragile & I wouldn't be suprised if it breaks after some usage,I might just throw this thing on the shelf to look back upon. There's also a little lens & a re-ball that has a funkier shape than his brothers in the shop, but I thought it looked cool so I threw it in the pic.

PS> The first jink-jank pipe tragically died this afternoon when I tried to fix the mouth piece:bummed:,the punty failed & it fell on the floor. The head shattered pretty bad & the ribbon snapped but the stem survived & I might re-use it,but probally not.
Also,I'm just a beginner having fun playing with this stuff so don't take me too seriously & let me know what you think.

Comments? Anyone? good? bad?echo, echo, echo, echo I really like the colors on this one, it's real solid & works well. I made a new one today, but god kicked me in the nuts & showed me where I stand,CRAZY NOOB!. It had a little jar attached & sweet colors, but one of my welds was weak,it broke while I was trying to attach the mouthpiece & the thing just fell apart,so I stopped for the day.My girlfriend was heckling the shit out of me,saying you're trying stuff above your head, your an idiot & she laughed when it broke. I know that's true, but I live by the philosophy that you get good at what you practice,so if I keep up on these crazy little originals, they'll only get better. I'm gonna re-use the mouthpiece though it turned out nice, reverse spiral on a geen coil base. Let me know if I should be posting this in another part of the forum,I don't wan't to 'crap up' the gallery, but I saw other beginner pics here,so I thought it was OK. I'm just having so much fun in the shop & am stoked at my progress for barely 2 months behind the torch, this site has helped me immensely. Here's a pic of the mouthpiece & the other pic is the ball that became the head. I won't post anymore pipes until they get better,I just wanted to share my first pipes with you all. I'm gonna make a goblet next & I'll put it up if it comes out decent.

heya nice looking reversals balls :) i think one of the main ways to learn to work with glass is to do it
having lessons or being able to watch experienced lampworkers will definatly speed up your learning
i am also doing things way over my head .i figure
the more times i make it the better they will get :)
keep up the practice and pushing yourself maybe in the future youll be able to make a glass muzzle for the nasty GF lol
wonder if she is related to my wife hahahaha

better pictures!!! I can hardly see them...but maybe its just me. i can't even figure out how to take a picture, let alone post one. I am coming up on a year though so it might be time to figure it out and post some of my own. Keep up the practice! :0

Hey Crip,I thought you was gonna say duct tape tha pipe back together! I tried to duct tape my gf but she kicked me in the nuts & then proceeded to beat my ass. No seriously though she is a real talented artist/jewler,so she had a point, but I put a lot of work into that piece then broke it at the last minute. Thanks sheep, we're all related somehow. KMG sorry about the pics I know they aren't the best, but the light in the shop is just funky like that. If you wan't you can zoom in on them & see a lot more.I'm going to post jpgs from now on,when I originally posted I didn't notice they were bmps, but I'm not that good with computers either. Here is one more pic of the pipe & a little funky jar,the pipe is now 'used' so I can't take any more pics of it,but more new & improved one to come.

Hey man, we all crawl before we walk.

I would really suggest starting from a beginner level and work your way up. Because if you jump right in and start making stuff like this, you will get used to it, and you will keep doing things the wrong way.

The very simple yet very neccessary skills you aquire when making 100 of a clear pipe, then moving to color etc are crucial to understanding how glass works.

Yup some days I can make shit and its so easy no probs and other days shit jsut falls apart on me usually when its almost done I have jsut gottn used to it and dont worry bout it any more, if i cant fix it oh well start a new one,

but ya these guys right start without color sjut learn to work it first then it will start to come together really quick and you will be really happy, i know it happened to me..

keep at it
