anyone here using the Nurit GRPS 8000 to process their charges?
or the Way system?
which works better?
i think it's time to take the leap, but they're not cheap, so i sure would appreciate any input......
thanks!!
I have the Nurit 8000. It works great I have never had any problems. I wouldn't go back to not having one. Just had a $725 weekend because of it.
Peace

dave, do you use them? it looks like you have to pay airtime fees to get the free terminal......that looks like it might be the catch....is that how it works?
i wish the terminal would be free...that would be awesome. BOA wants $1500. for it, but no contract is required.....and i distrust contracts that put time constraints on my activities, ya kno?

I have a wireless nurit 8000. and it is a wheelbarrow for sales!!! ~It takes smart cards as well as every card made, I had a remote location when I had went to use it and it took a few to "relocate" and then sales,sales,sales....
I used to do a minimal amount of sales a the same show and after picking the wireless terminal up I did 6x's the sales.

check out that www.merchantanywhere.com I've sopent the last day looking through their offerings, and I'm sold. They have a great looking system if you have a PC or compatible cell phone / PDA.

these systems all assume cell service is available, right? none sat based?
just wondering, i have a couple locations where there is NO cell service available and it's be pretty sweet to be the only vendor who could process cards.

i've been looking at that.....but it is different than what i am really interested in which is the wireless system.....see, i got rid of my cell phone as an experiment, and have found it actually liberating...so i don't really want a cell phone and have to cart around & fool around with the various components/accessories that it would require to hook up to it to process charges....plus the airtime charges.
i am currently handwriting the cc info out in the field, then come home & enter the charges on my computer & process them that way. but it has become a real pita, and it is too hard to hear the people's info over the music, and i have to go on trust that the cards will be good.
so if i could just zap them thru on site it would be great! but then again i have to be certain that the unit is going to receive reception. the all in one unit that has the printer attached looks so easy(nurit GRPS 8000) ....but so expensive....
but is it worth it to go thru BOA? i talked to a smaller bank, & they don't offer as competitive rates as the larger BOA.... or are the other providers going to have hidden charges or shady service/reception?
o.k., i'll quit rambling.....just tell me.........how many people out there are using a wireless system anyway?

Will those systems that have card swipers connected to a computer allow for you to just swipe, swipe, swipe and then come home and hook it up to the internet and process them all in batch form?

We use total merchant service. I actually found them on e-bay so I was suspscious at first, however I took the chance and it has wokred out better than I could have expected! We pay 1.3% and visc/mc and 1.8 on discover/amex which is much better than the 3% it would cost me before to process knuckle busted slips ( check your rates they are always higher if you don't have the card present) They provided the Nurit 8000 ($1500 machine) free of charge with the condition that will return it if we decided to leave their processing service. After a year of being with them I am happy report the follow advantages:
1. NO declined cards when it's too late.
2. Excellent coverage (we pinged at bonaroo, waka, and countless street shows all over the country)
3. Two business day turn around (batch on Sat money on Tues.)
4. Our screen back light went out and they replaced the unit the next day, on the road!! They sent a new one and I just returned the old one in the same box, much like Dell does for their seervice calls.
5. They process all major cards..debit, credit, amex, etc.
6. And my favorite....For those of us who keep our own books, if you batch 100 they put 100 in your account and bill once a month. Much easier that receiving a payment in QB and then having to adjust the ledger for each transaction to account for the percentage.
The only negative I can even think of is that this machine prints out the whole card number on the receipt. Make sure your are diligent in marking this out in order to protect your customers.

Just dug out a statement to make sure:
Batch fee .25 /batch
Wireless service $15/month
statment fee $5 -arrrg I'll have to check into that one...lol
Bottom Line: It cost us $168.14 to do $5000 worth of credit sales that month.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner but the link I sent you to is Total Merchant services , yes there is a wireless fee of 15.00 a month plus .07 per transaction. I am just getting them, I can not afford dishing out the big bucks right away for the terminal so this is the best deal I found. Will run me abot 50.00 a month min. PayPal virtual is 30 and a pain so I think I will like it.
