We're going to start a library so if you have books or dvds/videos or magazines etc that you want to donate to the project let me know, we could use them! :D Also if you know a supplier well or an author/director etc. and want to ask them to donate to the GLDG Library, we'd be very thankful! :D Hopefully this will grow to be big enough to benefit a ton of us. :D
Here’s what we’ve got so far, and who they were donated by in parenthesis.

When I was in trouble and trying to move away from pipes, Lewis Wilson got a hold of me personally, and donated some videos to me. I have since mastered all thats in the videos, so I would gladly donate them to the GLDG! Just take care of them, and remember Looie rocks!

Are you going to rent out the vids/books?? Remember the post about the dvd rental site. they had all sorts of glass videos to rent for like $9.99. anyone know the link?? Is it going to be something like that??

No it's going to be a library with like a really low yearly fee or something like that. GLDG members can borrow how ever many books/dvds/etc you want for that yearly fee. I'm not sure on all the details yet, we haven't worked it out, but when we're ready to lend I'll make another post about it.
Homer I did pm you...I'll pm again! :)

I think I have some Humboldt films around. One where a guy makes a fully worked 18" surface tube and a w/r vid with a point pulling, then a w/r bub w/millies. Also the OG book by Homer Hoyt, has all the setup stuff and lots of solid sculpting and some blown stuff. Basicly some good stuff for newbies..

Hey I got many back issues of The Crafts Report. It's not a glass instructional mag, but if you're looking to get out of the pipe thing it's a great resource to become a business oriented artist. It's got regional galleries listings calls for competitions and info on the whole business side of being an artist. Let me know where to send. Hope it helps.

As soon as I get my copy of Operation Pipeworks, I'm gonna rip it to my HD and then I'll donate the DVD to the library. If anyone wants it, that is...
I just drunkenly PayPal'd it last night, it looks like a good deal:

Thanks anyway, Rudiger, but we don't want burned copies, not cause of feds, but because our industry is so small we're all kind of like a big family, and don't want to cheat the other doods.
But prima, yes we'll be glad to use that! But I have to tease you for buying it. :lol

Hey thats great. Im just about to get a torch here. This well be greatly appreciated and help me get started up.
Also, books and magazines can get recked easy, what are the copyright laws on scanning them and turning them into a pdf file? If this is allowed, i'd be willing to do this. But like you said, you dont want to hurt anyone in this process.
But sending someone a pdf over the internet would stop wear and tear on the books.
But, when I begin start to get going, I'll for sure get a membership to the library.
Good idea

Just curious what the update is on this. Is it up and running yet?
I have a "Making Marbles" DVD (the one that shows eight marbles)
And another GTT DVD if you would want it. I may have some others I would be willing to part with. Not sure yet though.
Sorry, I could donate some books, but I am a book junky. I can't get rid of them (which is a real pain everytime I move.....I probably have over a thousand :ohwell: )

Hi Misha!
Looks like an awesome project-
I have a quick question...can I donate DVD's made off of TV programs?
I got some featuring Lucio, Dante Marioni and some Japanese soft and hard glassworkers......the programs are in Japanese(Kinda like Iron Chef but for glass)
