I'm nominating Somewhere (http://www.thegldg.com/forum/member.php?u=103) for GLDG ninja status. He's been with us for about 7 years, never been a trouble maker, always willing to help. I think he deserves to be a ninja. :D please vote!

I'm just going to play Devil's advocate:
How can Somewhere be a Ninja with a Rep Power of 3?
These ninja nominations should be strict. Call him out if you want to. Look through his posts and see if he is worthy...
That being said: Sky IS a super helpful guy, been here forever, always has good things to share, invites anyone who loves glass to his pimp studio and has always been an intelligent part of the community. So ya, you got my vote!

oops didn't know he had a rep of only 3. since he's been here forever and IS so helpful, I just assumed he met the requirements. he's getting a pass on that part and i will look closer next time. ;)

my rep points have been from... me being helpful or someone else being a "dick" so... IMO, fuck a bunch of rep points. Seriously call out your bs rep points (which includes fan points and admin points and see where you stand). because fans/friends are all full of shit, and admin bust there ass to figure out (how to judge…if they wanna) if you have gone over the edge to be helpful (or not). etc. observation is the key. look at fucking (yes he's fucking at the moment) dwain.. yea i like the guy but damn wtf when is the last time he's posted anything glass related other then the overuse of my dillys rex's mom. (dwain you are super helpful and I always want you here.. in fact you are my favorite, just not when it comes to making bs wigs)
but since no one knows what/whom they are really voting for other then a nice helpfull guy (so were told)... if we are going to vote on ninjas we at least deserve a bit more proper representation (what ever that is).
arg. i just reread misha original post and relized she DID state who we were voteing for giving us the capabilty to follow history and make jusgements based at least on something other then what i thought she, said should "someone" be a ninja
apologies accepted. .

I wanted to check the uh maybe box , but misha hid that one .

I voted no just to be a dick.
But honestly, I think it's ok.

I voted yes because the man has a knowledge from true experience regarding torch and furnace glass.
His website reflects the depth of knowledge.
Can't remember where that is right now, I think he made reference to it in a post.

I'm gonna vote no cause he's in FL and it's cold as crap up here in WA.
When it's warmer out I'll change my mind.

Anyone who has ever met Sky and his wife Sarah will tell you that they are some of the kindest people you will ever meet. They are rockin it up in Gainesville and they have built both lamping and hot shops with thier bare hands. Sky has first hand knowledge of most glass related from techs to fabricating equipment, electrical, etc; and is always eager to help. Whatever, it's just a pic under your avitar, but if your giving them out, I vote yes on Sky wholeheartedly.

Ha Ha Emmit. Why don't you get your ass down here for a visit?
BTW: It's cold as f*@K up in G'ville too. You have to make it to Central FL to start hitting the subtropics!

Thanks!
I've been here since kristian started the ez-board. I made this part of my daily ritiual and plan on being here forever.
I started in glass 12 years ago and worked in scientific glass at a research facility I still have close ties with.
I helped build a community art center in the town I live and encourage anyone coming thru or wants to make the trek to come buy. We have plenty of work space with lodging available. We teach all facets of glass working with some great instructors.
I love this place and all the people in it.
Please check out my (needing updated) Glassartist page:

My life is family and glass. Some of you will remember the gas conference in Seattle. I helped organize and set up the first student lampworking demos that gas presented. That took place at the glass eye and some may remember I talked Bob Snodgrass into a demo there. I was blown away at GWP and met a lot of the OG flameworkers there. I love this community and consider you all part of my family.

I don't have travel on my plans, I do so much travel for shows that when I can sit around close I enjoy it. Maybe I should plan a FL show next winter.
According to the weather channel the todays low in Gainsville is the higher than the high we've had here for the past week.

Comforting thought: If you're mad at FL peeps because it's warm in the winter, Feel free to laugh your ass off at them in the summertime. Go Sky.

yea i just wanted to apologize for my last post in this thread.. its absolutely no excuse but, i've been having a bad month week day and it just keeps piling up. alcohol was involved and well i guess i feel semi comfortable here (especially when drunk) and i just wanted to publicly apologize to misha, dwain, somewhere and all you who had to read this. i'd like to think its not at all my nature to to spew negative trash like this. anyway i felt an explanation was deserved.
sorry for hijacking :o:
