Now that I have your attention....... A proposal.

I have been reading about the new badges and everything and am realizing the resources needed to make this board what it is. I guess you could say the behind the scenes technical effects have officially slapped me in the face. Anyways, how about a donation challenge? I am making my first donation to the GLDG and will base it on the months I have been a member. 31 months equals 31 dollars and I extend this challenge to anyone who, like me, has never donated to the forum before. Thank you, Jonathan

I think it's great you've come up with an idea to help the forum, thanks. :) We should run a yearly on site glass auction too as someone suggested. I thought that was a great idea since some people really want to give but are short on cash (like most of us hehe) but there is no shortage of glass around this place! :lol

I'll try to help organize something like that when things pick back up for everyone, which happens soon thank goodness. These next couple months can be a real bitch!

Even in that little shed, with my kiln and torch on is probably warmer than my house. I can see my breath in here!

Interesting how over 150 have looked at this but only 9 have voted. Should I have not made the results public? Does that make others nervous? Is this a conspiracy Theory?

You can set up a charitable ebay account to that people can start an auction from their studios and have the proceeds go to the board. Just an idea.

Here's the info if anyone's interested: http://givingworks.ebay.com/communityselling/

It also seems that the auction proceeds are also tax deductible for the seller. They even provide a receipt.

For the ebay auction donations to work, the board itself must first set it up and then we can designate the proceeds of a sale, or part of a sale, to go to the board. Otherwise we just have to give cash. :)

I would definitely be DOWN for a charity auction. Anyone who wants to give can donate a piece to be auctioned off whereever and have the money go towards this site.

I voted that I like the idea, but really the idea I like the most is Misha's idea for a charity auction. I think that i would have an easier time donating some art than some cash (mostly because I rarely have cash, and when I do, it's spent on glass supplies).
