Those are really cool, I especially like the hooks, very tight. I started making these a few years back for an old boyfriend with large holes...I started out using scraps of cane and made a shape similar to your claws only I called them "talons". I also sold a buttload of them at my farmers market booth over the summer. Honing your skills while attempting to create that natural, graceful form is the real reward of making small and precise peices like ear plugs.

one question.
how well do the plugs stay put?
i know usually people put o rings on em, but those look like they're pretty rounded on the ends for o's
