the ones with the fume twisted up on the inside do well, i've had a couple people approach me to do them in the last year for $9-$11 (for the spoons). i'd say that you probably need to work on the consistancy from piece to piece a little more before you can pitch them as a line. for now you might want to price them all differently according to size and cleanliness. good luck.

dont go back to that shop............

Your going to want to not call out your store owners.... they might not understand what you do maybe thats for the best.....

the easiest way to not get sales is to call em out on there prices.... just like me comming up and calling you out on your prices at a festival...

I get 10 bucks for a bat for full inside out. or half of there retail on the item.

Just part of buisness, dont shit where you sleep if you cant be professional and keep your trap shut then your proabably not going to be making many sales if you dont like it then dont go to them... they would probably ordering Indian glass any way cause a buck a pop for the same stuff has a higher return.

or cut them outta the loop and retail out your own.... i spent a whole lotta time working on my stuff and my prices and my accounts.... they dont have to know what it all is or means they are retailing it thats there job.... be nice about education about glass in ways they can sell more.... then cool. its a compeditive market....

I agree with Somberbear. When I first started out, it bothered me that a piece I sold for 10 got sold for 25. I made it, and they were making more than me. But think about it from the store's point of view. If they invest money in inventory, it is to make money. Enough to cover all their expenses and then some. The fact that they are made by a local artist is all that makes them worth more than 80 cents to 2 dollars (check out the cost of the imports). If that artist is an ass to the customer, how much are they worth?

I recently got ahold of a 2007 Chameleon catologue... After seeing their prices, I'm raising my prices by 30%, and I'll still be undercutting them.

That said Somber is right about talking down to the store owners. Don't do that especially when your a Newbie with glass "stacking up". Better to be humble and well paid than proud and hungry...

^^Yeah, especially considering it is "double blown", at least, according to their own website.:evilLaugh

Their website rails against imports, even going so far as to say that imports supply the middle east with ak-47s :2rolleyes. However, since they have no problem in continuing the double blown bullshit disinformation, I would not have any trouble believing that they are reselling imports. It does look like they spend more time and money on their website and catalog than glass, that's for sure.

ive seen stuff in shops with chameleon stickers that look imported but you gotta remember there are plenty of blowers in america making shitty products also.

When you have shop owners and distributors constantly wanting shit for cheaper it's no wonder stuff is made as quick and cheaply as possible.

ok yeah....lets get this fixed.... i used the wrong choice of words befor...the "calling out" thing should have been worded..."i mentioned that i know he is buying this shit glass for like 3 to 5 bucks a spoon.." i didnt mean it in a negative way at all.....just want to clear this up with everyone so i dont look like a dumb newb..and they did ask me some terms later and i was kind to share the knowledge....just want everyone to know

Prices vary wildly. Don't assume anything.

Also, some things can get a higher markup than others. What the market will bear, if you will. A markup of less than 100% on things like headdies and volcano's, and more on papers and one hitters.

i'd be lucky to get 4$ for those fumies. i sell full i/o dot work fumies for 6 by the hundred and people barely wanna do that.

Chameleon is not importing glass.

yeah chameleon doesn't import. they have a warehouse/ glass shop in phoenix, az. its all kept within their walls. another note, when you look at any catalogue and see a price, its usually well over what they are willing to take. if your dumb enough to buy it at that price then they will sell it. if your going to buy a couple thousand in glass from anyone the prices will almost always shift. im saying this for those that don't know, not any of you shop owners or peeps in the know.
