Awhile ago someone posted a trick to clean the end of used 9.5 blowtubing using the flame and marver a flat disc on the end and then ... then what do you do????
I always toss them if they are too short to score and break. I would love to be able to get the most out of my 9.5, since i am always runnig out. Thanks for any help on this. Even if you can point me to that og post on this topic.

Don't toss them if they are too short, just melt them together into a longer one!
Also, I like to avoid scoring as it creates a lot of glass dust. I'd rather just cut it with the flame and blow or twiggle a hole open.
I've tried the disc flattening thing, and I end up with cracks that go all the way down the tube and all sorts of problems - or the disc just doesn't come off and I end up pulling it off and opening the thing inthe flame anyway.

Chris,
Thanks for the link and the trick!I was not doing the thumb thing. I will try this tonight again.
Julian,
I have tried melting them together i always seem to get a reduction at the point that they connect though. Or they break because I don't melt together good. Anyways thanks for your reply!

melt em together , give a tiny puff a stretch , to even the wall up , you can add up to the length you like . Or you can use the last bit for downstems .

Thanks Nubblet,
I will start keeping a box just for downstems thats a good idea!
Congrats on the red name and all.
