I dont know if there is a "name" for this tech but its damn fun and hard as hell to keep the pattern straight. Ive been doing a classic wrap and rake then "cut and flip" for lil reversal balls. Awesome looking ( pic's later)...
One tip i will pass on ; when cutting the tubing, cut on a rake line as this will be hidden when you put it back together.

i discovered that if you reverse the axis after you cut and flip the section (put your blowtube on the seam) you can rip the top half off and you have a section of cut/flip w/o any seam at all. it's kinda wasteful but you can always use the seam part for something less heady like a pullbowl or something.

yea the sock flip, no cutting and no seams. still a major pain in the ass. once you get it down though it opens up all new avenues for iso patterns. i use this technique alot and people love it.
