finally got a ill new camera and made a horrible lightbox out of a cardboard box and wax paper. pictures came out like "glamour shots" lol. The digital macro super mega upclose looks ill but im havin trouble gettin good full pics. anywho heres some of my most recent stuff ranging from 6-7 months of torchin. werdd.
I took the first 5 into a local shop (i went there just to look at stuff for inspiration and they wanted to see them) and the dude looked at them and said the owner would probably buy them for $12-$15. i think he though i went there intending on trying to sell it although i made it clear i had no intentions of sellin anything. what would you get for a blowin blowin spoon? i wanna clean em up alot before i sell anyway im not totally happy yet. i was mad smiley after he said that tho lol it feels so satisfying.
about a month old. blowin with dots. livered the shit outta the ruby but people for some reason seem to like that one although i know its the worst one in the case

3rd i/o first good one. always afraid to strike my fume lol. cool it down and heat it up. repeat. repeat. repeat?... sounds like a good way to destroy my piece at 99% completion. but il get my balls one of these days. i cant use my kiln and torch at the same time b/c im forced to extension cord it to my shed.

Nice pics but maybe resize to 500x300 for posting. They will load faster for those of us who are not rocking the cable internet. If I were you I would sell those. If he like them and wants to pay take the $$$$$. Gotta buy more glass, gas, and color right? Those pcs look like real good prodo. Keep up the good work.
I use photo resize magic to resize folders of pic to post online. It is a free download.

the diffused stem is awesome. i like the colors in the mouth piece too. lol maybe u can try heating it back up slowly in the kiln and fixing it for the sake of practicing how to fix a piece.

Thanks everyone. I'd like to sell to the shop but they want more than what I had and I don't have the time to be making a lot unfortunately. It's reassuring to know that when I have a large collection I'll be able to sell them tho.
yea silver and gold on some pieces. silver alone on pieces i want blue. i have no idea how anyone can get other than blue or amber out of silver alone. havent tried gold alone yet(maybe once idr)
yea crackage definitely blows! i just spent so long working in the i/o so it has maximum depth to the twisties that ive never had come out so perfect before, only to have the bowl area crack horribly while polishing a scar left by removing the final punty after finishing the mouthpiece. i just gotta take more than more than enough time to rewarm everything that cools. or not let it cool i guess. gr

ok so after a few cracked spoon attempts i made(almost) this horribly cracked sherlock. shit broke off the blowtube while workin in the seal and i cursed the sky. after realizing it wasnt craked, i hurried and re welded a blowtube, finished weldin in the seal and then it broke off AGAIN! this time i wasnt so lucky as it bounced off my bench and landed in the water bucket! AGH! it was comin out so sick! sorry about the bad pics im in a rush
oh yea. keeping up with current trends, this piece is somewhat garrick inspired(the horn) lol nice shit bro

its still fixable and as far along as it is i would do it for the amount of work that went into it. next time make sure your welds are cleaner.. if the tube you are attaching to is real thick then i barely heat the blow tube and attach puff and a slight pull. if they are the same thickness i heat both evenly till just on edge of white hot stick them together.. pause.. puff and a slight tug just before setup to straighten out.
just stay attentive and figure why whatever it is went wrong if you can figure it out adjust accordingly.

fuming looks really good on that one. like slave said fix that shit

really? fixable lol? il try but i dunno, im not gettin my hopes up. i guess just bring it up to likw 1100 in the kiln and work one crack in at a time? i think the blowtube/point cracked off because when i attached the bridge to it, i olny heated up a tiny piece of the point and that put too much stress in?
slave are you talking about attaching a blowtube or welding the bowl to the stem? if your talking about blowtubes i didnt use one i had a point

use a blowtube especially on heavier things
Defnietely blowtube, its much easier to grasp and spin when the piece is big.
