finnally i can get my first few pieces up. many of my first attempts failded but my first first witch is the one with the black frit is actually a thick i/o and it has been my best yet. idk im still progressing doing about one to two a day and most of the time they shatter at the last second becuase they fall off the punty or my blow tube is to skinny, but i am getting the hang of the bowl hole size and shaping. mouth pieces need some work. yeah so theyre shitty quality but i just wanted to share and hope some of my idols like gibson glass or crip skillz have anything to say. ill post more when i get better. o and also these are all done with no hot fingers, one tweezer, no push(just a rounded out piece of metal thats like two inches long and it burns your hands), and minimal glass other than that no tools really.

also i have a question. do you need to anneal pipes before smoking out of them? i heard this today and im not sure. mine always just sit beside my torch for a few minutes and cool they dont crack or anything. when they get more intriquet ill put them in the kiln. it wouldnt cause any damage to your health not annealing them would it?

i wouldnt smoke out of that one with frit cause it looks like its on the inside and not worked in which gives you a damn good chance of getting some sharp glass down your throat. and yes you need to anneal them

why do u need to anneal them. is there any special reason? health wise i mean. and ill make sure to do that i guess. yeah the oen with the frit wont really be used its more of a sentimental thing

annealing doesnt effect your health it just takes the stress out of the glass so its more durable. and ill give you advice i have heard 100 times and wish i would have listed to dont waste color untill you can properly shape a peice. even though its cool to keep your first few, the first 100 pipes are garbage in a few months you will laugh at that old stuff and wish you still had the color to put into something nice. good work though keep it up

i know i still have to work on shaping the pieces and color is free for me right now cause i do it all in a class so while its free im gonna keep expirementing. but once im on my own torch with my own glass then im gonna have to be more consevative. also im fine with the glass being not so durable and later i will try to anneal as many of my pipes as possible but due to time constraints i just cant really. so as long as its not a health issue they are gonna have to stay unannealed. but how do u sink in the color lines on a non i/o piece. im applying color to the outside but its not really sinking in at all. maybe im not going hot enough idk.

oh man this stuff looks jsut like my first stuff heheh I love it,,

but to sink in the color your gona have to get the whole piece hotter and puff it out a bit then shrink it back down and the lines will start to sink in,,

and I had a lot break on me twords the end too because i wasnt keeping the whole piece hot enuf but after a while you will start to get the feel of it, but than again I still have pieces crack and drop my fair share on the bench from the punty gettin to cold and popin off, jsut keep at it and keep it hot and blow it out and reduce it a few times to sink the lines in.

other than that keep at it..

thats all i can really tell ya cuz im still learnin tooo
