Ok so I won A case of schott 1/2 inch tube at the night or boro out here in Seattle. I am very stoked:D any suggestions of what to make would be greatly appreciated. I am more of a solid worker and have just recently begun to work hollow.
thanks

You can make patterned pendants & patterns for marbles & such out of it,this is something I'm trying to learn with. Some examples are rettichellos,wig-wags,
tube implosions, cedar rose. You make your pattern or implosion on the end section of tube & then condense it down so it's solid & them remove your blowtube & finish shaping. As far as hollow stuff, there isn't really enough glass to blow anything larger than maybe some micro jars & perfume bottles & real tiny stuff.

Cool I make marbles all the time solid wise I like ceder roses. Can I make honey comb mibs with this size tube ?
I suck at perfume bottles and with the cost of color coil potting them gets expensive
I use 13mm for 5 minute tube implosion pendants. These are my money maker (when i actually have stuff to sell ;) )
They're fun to make each one different. So in an hour, you've pumped out 10 different and unique pendants, and maybe 1-2 have a possible production design basis.

How do you do tube implosion pendents? Blow out a bubble decorate then condense and implode ?
Ive never done a tube implosion on tube that small but on 1 inch tube, you just decorate the tube, fume n dot or color dots or whatever. Implode and do a disc flip.
I would imagine you would have to blow it out a bit on the size tubing you got.

Ya, but the condensing and the imploding happens more at the same time compared to rod implosions, which might have a couple rounds or imploding. Just make sure not to blow your bubble too thin, because it's already a small tube. Also, don't decorate too close to the main part of the tube that you didn't blow out. Condense/implode about 3/4 of the bubble(or whatever is working for your design), punty up to the back, pop a whole, and rip it off the tube.
If you can get some frit on the bubble without warping it too much, that's also another fun/quick way to add some decoration.

These look nice.
Blow a nice thin bubble.
Fume the end of the bubble with silver/gold.
Starting at the end of the bubble and working back put a bunch of dots on it (looks best if they are in a uniform pattern).
Melt down the dotted half until solid.
Punty up to that and tear the blowtube off. (clean up the extra glass from the bubble)
Back it with a dark color and put a hoop on it.
Congrats on winning the glass!!

You can wrap the tube as well sort of like coil potting except you already have a glass base to start with. Suddenly your 2mm wall can be 4, plenty of room to work with.
