I just registered and thought I would say hello and drop an introduction.
I'm J. R. Hooper, and I've been a Glass Junkie for about ten years now. My last marble was about an hour ago :-) I make miniature marbles, some regular marbles and some beads, am starting to get into fusing but no one warned about cold working glass and how bad it sucked... but I'm learning. See some familiar names on here, howdy Drew Fritz, it's an honor.
Looks like a great board, looking forwards to communicating with you guys.

I might hav an opportunity to set up inside a guy's retail shop for a few weekends, they are excited about having a glass artist in the store and I'm excited because the place is right on a major highway and I'm likely to sell some glass in the process. The last time I was out in public with a torch was way back when on a hot head at a flea market (not advised LOL). I'm just wondering what I need as far as fire codes etc., I'm not planning on working anything larger than beads or 1 inch marbles. I know you have to have two exits, a fire proof surface, fire extinguisher, and some kind of plexi-glass or creen between you and the people watching... any of you guys with more experience in 'getting out there' have any advice?
I'm thinking of setting up a table in front of the torch set up as kind of a buffer with my glass for sale and let my daughter handle the haggling, but I've not set up in public like this before so I'm kinda scared lol.

Glad you joined here! I've seen your mini (micro?) marbles on eBay for years and always thought they're really cool. I need to add a vial top my collection soon.

Welcome.
