I had a hella time trying to work with the gong set up. Just couldnt figure out the can to joint ratio. SO I just gave up.... And went with an idea I thought would work... Recessed female joints...
I've only done a cpl so there not perfect yet, but I just realized if I had a peice of graphite that fit nice and snug into the fem joint, Life would be much betta... On with the pics...letme know what ya think! PEACE

hey wild, are you cold working these things to make them fit exact? Ive always thought about getting some of those bushing special made to have a extra large lip on the top so you could drop them in and ring seal em like a normal bub, ive seen a few people do this but whenever i try, it makes them wobble real bad. ive seen this tube company called HVY just ream open holes that kind of fit the ground joints and shove em in.... imo that is horrible, but hell i guess people still like em? anyways that 2nd bub in that picture looks like its ring sealed in? good work , i like the looks ALOT better without the nasty female sticking up 2 inches above the can. keep it up Peas

Tear it up!!!
I just VERY Carfully ring seal the fem joint in, using the lip on the joint to seal to the can... and be sure to ream the lip back open , so the male will fit properly.
For the 2 pc gong set up I transition the 14ml fem joint to 12ml ,and diffuse.
the 3 pc is just flame cut 18 ml joint ...

when you drop them in, do you use the bushing joints that have the huge flare on the end... or do you use standard 18.8 females or 14.4 females?

Just the fem...bushing fits into the 18.8 for the 3 pc set up....

ah.. i was thinking you were just putting a rubber bushing into the piece, skipping the sealing it in bit. either way.. it looks good.

That's really fucking cool! Have you had any problems with distorting the female? Or melting off the grinding? I am just getting started on gong stuff, and that just looks like a great idea. Thanks jor sharing.
