John Olson – Borosilicate Inside-Out Bead Class
The class will be working with heavy wall tubing as well as using silver and gold for fuming. Students will learn control of blowing borosilicate glass and applying color to the inside of a blown tube. From there, you will be able to work on different techniques of shaping the bead into a beautiful, inside-out bead. Students should be intermediate or above.
John started his glass career approximately eight years ago. He specializes in working with borosilicate tubing. In the past few years his main focus has been the inside/out bead, which he has exhibited throughout the United States. John has been published in American Style Magazine, Lapidary Journal, 1000 Beads, Beads of Glass, and Beadwork Magazine. In April 2003, he was a demonstrator (along with his wife Pati Walton) at the Lampwork Festival in Azumino, Japan. You can see more of John's work at www.patiwalton.com.
