View Full Version : a "fear cage"

hi.
I just found out that my torch is surrounded by a "fear cage". I am sorry I can't get a good definition of the 'fear cage'. Maybe someone else can describe it. Basically I work surrounded in a high electromagnetic field. "fear cages" can cause headache, malaise, dizziness, and a host of other things as yet unproven. One easily conveyable example of this fear cage 'proof', is I can get no cell phone signal in the cage, yet if I move inches out of the cage, I can get 3-4 bar reception. ...I always knew my ventilation was adequate.... yet something in my setup always made me feel sick. I now know.
4 days ago I left fingers in a raging flame as I was messing with the kiln. I have the 3rd degree burns now and I blame beer and the usual sensations brought on by a fear cage.
This isn't a joke post.
If anyone knows any types of solutions, or electromagnetic field "lessening" devices-- short of redoing the whole set-up, please post back.

If someone thinks I am bullshittting or crazy, I will punch you in the throut. No I won't! :D I am kidding about that, but not about the "fear cage".

be smart.

i dont know about "fear Cages" but why not just move your torch over a couple of feet?

You should really figure a way to channel the energy to power your kiln, and then get a big ass kiln!

Are you using a metallic base/table and metal overhead hood? If so, try running ground straps on all metal parts to either a ground stake hammered into the ground or to the nearest cold water pipe, or (last resort) to the ground point on your nearest electrical outlet.

Something similar to this occurs near transmission lines...and grounding all metal items seems to resolve the problem.

That's terrible, Harp.

I'd try grounding your hood and table, like Mike said.

Check the area with some things like a compass, a dish of iron filings, etc, see what reactions you get. Just curious.

Hope you fingers get better soon.

Harp,
Grounding your area will help a lot but another thing you can also use are plain old river rocks.
Take some and place them around your work area they can absorb some of the negative energy
when they start to loose their effect change out the rocks, returning them to the river or stream that they came from and bring in new rocks.

sounds like you need a tinfoil hat they work everytime :) the thrumming of high powerlines drives me nuts. good luck hope you can get it figured out so work is as comfy as possible cause its always hrad to get out there anyways. least thing you need is something else holding you back. peace brett

Jeebis that is bad news, hope you heal up soon and get your set up fixed. Stop working when you're drunk! How long till you collapse onto the torch and get a bigass hole burnt through your head? Fokdat, must be a right mess for who has to mop up the mess.

10 bucks say yer torch is to low and yer leaning over it, sucking in the nice fumes.

unless yeh live under a one of those high power lines yeh dont have a "high electromagnetic field" any where in yer house.

cell phones are kinda "line of sight" thing if there is any thing between yer cell phone and the cell tower like sheet metal maybe a fume hood, big fan with a metal cage... yeh loose them precious bars

"fear cage" HUH???

go ahead and punch me in the face..

that being said, the proper screen material can shield electromagnetic radiation. faraday cage http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faraday_cage

shielded cables/wiring reduces emr too... i'd rather see you wear the tinfoil hat, while sitting on a huge riverstone.

a small amount of lithium ingested daily can help to ground EM fields.

cell phone could just be a crappy carrier. I swear to dog I was within a quarter mile of what I'm sure was a cell tower, I mean I could see the damn thing top to bottom from the road, and I had no reception. F t-mobile.

Other than that I'm with the tinfoil hat crowd, though grounding yourself isn't a bad idea regardless. Maybe you can redirect the energy elsewhere with an antenna of some sort? bonus points if it also gets you tv reception.

do you have those fuckin florescent shop lights above your head at your bench..might be the ballasts in them . i dunno man.... i know it is gonna sound like hippy bullshit but i heard that if you wear anklets made out of hematite it helps ground negative energy in your body..but it sounds like its a field near your torch not in your body.

I second the tinfoil hat, but make sure you suck on a AAA battery also. Just the + end.

i've got my tinfoil hat on, hip hip hip horray
my tinfoil hat will shield me from your mind-controlling ray

i've got my tinfoil hat on, to insulate my brain
as long as i have got my tinfoil hat on i'll be sane

naughty little voices chanting, naughty little thoughts implanting
alminium will strike them dumb... wear a tinfoil hat

aliens and goblins were watching me in bed
untill i took some bacofoil and wrapped it round my head

i've got my tinfoil hat on, my mind can not be soiled
i've got my tinfoil hat on, now their evil plans are foiled.

Just curious, where are you getting the word "fear" from ? Are you sure you don't mean "Faraday" ?

Hello, I'm back.
Let me clear up what little I can.
The main difference between a Farraday cage and a fear cage is "intent".
You can use a Farraday cage to purposeley and in a safe manner divert electrical current and EMFs, while a fear cage is an accidental construct and unintended.
What made my fear cage was: 8x10 steel shed, variable speedexhaust and rheostat-style controller, A work surface of a huge metal/reflective street sign, a formed tin exhaust hood vortex (which is inches from me head as I am in it).
What IS grounded is the whole shed, electrical.
What I still need to ground is: work surface, fan vortex enclosure.

I still stand by the theory of the 'fear cage'.

P.s. a car acts as a Farraday cage when struck by lightening. The divertion of current has nothing to do with a car's tyres.
