These are a few of the things I made with my TAG samples.

This frog pendant is made with TAG colors blue blizzard, leprechaun, talc white, elvis red, turbuco, and Manderin

This one is made with TAG colors blue blizzard, leprechaun, wysteria blizzard, talc white, elvis red, and turbuco. The wysteris is an experimental color and I mixed it with clear. I think it thinned out too much. Next time I'll use it straight.

This is a catalytic lamp burner I made for family. The window is TAG blue blizzard, wysteria blizzard and talc white.

This last pics shows it with the safety collar.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks guys. My wife pressed me to make the lamp. It is essentially a Lamp Berger. Here's a link.

yes very nice indeed, say i was always wondering, i make a frog that just stands alone, but how do you attach him to a thing did you first build the legs then body then feet or body legs then feet. or leaf then frog or frog then leaf then legs????? i guess thier could be a hundred ways but can you tell us how you go about it please?, oh and how big is the oils berger bottle? jes

I made the leaf first to set the proportions.
I leave a punty where the loop is.
Then make the frog body. Eyes and whatever color you want go on now.
I will have a punty on the nose and build the first segment of the back legs.
Then the second segment of the back legs.
Test for fit on the leaf and adjust.
Tack weld leg joint tips on leaf and cut off punty from frog.
Build front legs. Do this by stretching a rod between the shoulder and where the hand will be, then tool it to shape after.
Smooth rear leg welds and add third segment.
Polish welds now.
Apply stringer toes, optional color toe pads.
Add punty to tip of leaf and cut off leaf stem, shape into loop or bail.
Cut off and kiln.

I really like to build as I go. I prep the colors I will use ahead of time, pull leg rod to correct thickness, pull stringers, etc. I think the flow of the figure is more natural when as you build as you go, imagining the creature in life.

The lamp is about 6" tall with the collar on.

Jon.

Nice pieces! I am really intrigued by the lamp. Where did you get the wick for it and does yours function well? It seems like it would be pretty useful around the house (as well as aesthetically pleasing).

You forgot 'fragrantly' pleasing;

Our thunderbox gets a bit whiffy sometimes too.

This would be a good gift for Dwaine.

Thanks, guys. The lamp parts I got of of ebay. It's a kit for a do it yourself Lamp Berger. Under the nipple piece is a silicone washer to help keep it airtight. Fitting to top can be tricky, and is crucial for function. The top of the lamp looks like an over sized beer bottle: Round neck and small lipped edge. The nipple needs to barely slip over the top, then is crimped over the lip. The one in the picture isn't crimped because I got lucky with the fit and it is kinda pressed of. Because the nipple is metal, you can test fit while the glass is warm, a huge help. And yes it functions great.

SouthernFume, I have made in clear glass just about every animal at one time or another. I just love frogs. Some creatures lend themselves better to pendants however, so not that many different pendants critters have I made. If your creative enough, the sky is the limit.
