Right. So, I've been reading up and watching videos on lampworking for about 2 months now. I've tried every way you could think of to find some form of hands on training with it.:bangHead:
Alas, nothing of the sort. (Although, for whatever reason I did get to watch a scientific glassblower for about 10 hours accumulated)

I recently found a bead store nearby and wondered if that is where I should start. I'm very interested and feel that I would be good at it.

Do any of you live in the Baltimore, MD area? Willing to give me some training :o:

Thanks

Open phone book and look up glass art studios.... You will probably find a lot of stained glass studios, but if you visit enough of them, one will have knowledge on where you can "connect" with some "hot glass" artists....

There are so many things you can do with glass- fusing, slumping, stained glass, offhand, and lampworking. Lampworking alone includes so many aspects such as marbles, beads, pipes, goblets, scientific, and sculpture- just to name a few.

First and foremost, figure out what direction you want to pursue. Second, take some classes in those areas and practice, practice, practice.

Well I wanted to do something like: pendant making, beads, and pipes. I reallllllly want to try out some pipes.

Would it be a good idea to start with soft glass and move my way up? I know that it's really cheap compared to harder glasses. And ya :depressed
