Okay guys I am doing a paper for school and am having a REALLY hard time finding sources on the subject. I have to have 5 sources. The topic is the Problem of Glass Work not having enough tools to do certain things that we want to do in the glass. Please comment here about your thought of how to fix that problem. Also if you all know any other sources I can pull this info from that would be greatly appreciated as well. I only have till 6 pm. central time to finish this please help me out guys. Thnx

Thats a tough one, mainly because I really don't see the problem. One of the things I love about working with glass is you can do just about anything imaginable without needing anything other than a few very simple tools. What kinds of things are you wanting to do that would need some kind of tool that doesn't exist? :puzzled:

I agree with Nemesis... I don't agree with your thesis and cannot think of suitable sources that would support the claim.

I would say on a broader note, starting a research paper the night before it's due isn't the best idea. I admit I did a lot of my best college writing at the last minute, but I always made it a point to gather my sources and form a strong thesis well before I started to write.

...on the topic of tools, I think there are a lot of tools that artists would like to have and don't, but it's a financial issue, not one of availability. Boro glory holes, centerfugal casteing molds, lathes, the best kilns, graphite, rollers, and everything.... all available, but not cheap

...so wow... good luck with that one.

The only way I can think to get to this idea is the fact that there ARE tool makers out the making tools....different tools all the time. The guy on here with the new tube cutter, Mike. Menzies tools, Will made his own. I make a lot of my own tools and I also made a new style marble mold. Drew Frits developed his mold, There are graphite press in molds of all kinds of shapes being developed now with 3D geometry and CNC machines. So for sources, I would look at the stores that sell tools and the people who develop them. I gave you 5 sources there without really working too hard. If I go much further, I'll have to charge you for writing your paper!!
Back to work!!

Oh.....sorry.......looks like this is already overdue.
